First of all...Dave Harrison, are you out there? Dean Woodcock, are you still on this earth? Chris Holland, pack in the tedious league stuff and bring your family out on a Sunday. We are desperate for some different bowling options during a game and your returns would be most welcome!
Another enjoyable game in a good spirit, but another loss from far too many runs conceded in the field once again.
Bowling first, a lack of options became apparent after a tidy start, with many bowlers going for 5 or more runs per over. That, together with some extremely poor (cowardly even at times?) fielding, meant another unsurmountable total.
A good knock by Paul Hays was followed by a dramatic middle order collapse, and the last two batsmen used the remaining 12 overs wisely, putting together an unbroken 52 run partnership (which would have been a lot more if Banno hadn't wanted to keep his hands in his pockets when umpiring!) to make the score respectable at least.
