A very close match, but Old Firps end the season with three losses in a row. Eight man Firparnians managed to scrounge three players from Anston in order to fulfil the fixture. Losing the toss (again), Firps were put into bat on a wicket that was not as easy as it looked. Banister and France put on a creditable opening stand, and then the sledgers on the boundary, who were crowing about how easy the pitch was, proceeded to come and go in a rapid middle order collapse, with the Captain looking on at the other end. 153 always looked twenty runs short, but tidy bowling and excellent catching meant that Firps had an excellent chance of pinching the game. A cow-corner six in the penultimate over swung the balance towards Anston however, and the season ended on a rather disappointing note.
